Gong Xi Fa Cai

It’s the 2nd day of Chinese New Year, and it has been HOT HOT HOT! Of course, back in Malaysia, it was extraordinarily hot. As we went visiting relatives, I would really dread going into the super hot car, especially with crisp new clothes on. It was excruciatingly hot. Parking a car under the shade of tree was the most coveted spot of all. But it’s hard to find, since we always visited in a huge group, which meant, many cars. That’s one thing I really missed about CNY. Going all over the town, visiting our extended relatives, with our cousins, and aunties and uncles. We also had a tradition of taking a huge family photo every year. And we would see ourselves grow in those photos. Pretty cool.

Missing it all so much, I have resorted to looking up CNY videos on youtube. And it is just great that you can actually download vids now via youtube downloader, so I can mix it up, and play it for my kids. Of course, it’s all in a different language, and my kids really get a kick out of listening to kids their age, but in a different language.

I wonder what my kids will remember of their CNY celebrations. Not much, I suppose. Since we don’t do much visiting around here.

Well.. Happy Chinese New Year..and I hope this year of dragon will bring much luck, happiness and health to all of you.
