The New Business

Two months ago, I bought myself a Thermomix. What’s a thermomix? It’s the world’s smallest, smartest, mobile kitchen. Honestly, it is. This is not some marketing hype that I’ve made up, just because I made this my business. A German technology, but it’s a true work of art. I wax lyrical about it, not because I know the technical details, but these very same details, made me appreciate the technology that went into it.

It minces, grinds, sautes, steams, kneads, weighs, stirs, mixes, mills, and so much more. It’s at least 10 kitchen appliance in one. I’ve made so many things in it, I can’t even believe it myself. If my business grows, I may need to hire my husband and put him on a payroll program. He’s been so supportive so far. He has taken over the kids and some of the chores, when I’m out doing demonstrations (yes! I do demos – where I cook up 6 dishes in 2 hours!). He’s also designed my business card, and helped with some great marketing ideas. He’s truly awesome.

Like any business, I was really stressed about the continuance of it. But what I’m going to do is..just to go with the flow and do whatever it takes to make it. Whether or not, I actually make it… we’ll have to see. I know it’s probably not the right business philosophy to go with..but it’s really no point stressing about it. Just plan, and do.

And the best thing is… I get to enhance my cooking skills. I never ‘loved’ cooking..but hey, now I can do tons of stuff, without sweating it out. Sweet.
