Growing boys..
As my boys grow up, I’m really not liking the pre-teen and teen years. I will have to deal with them looking at girls, thinking about ciggies and how cool it would look on them..and of course, drugs. Ok.. I’m no saint..and have been there, done that. Which makes it really worse..because I know that it can be fun. If done in moderation (hahaha..what a bad parent I am). I hope that I will be able to knock some sense in them, teaching them that saying “no” is ok sometimes. And don’t run away from dogs who want to chase you. Ok, ignore that last sentence.
Here’s the thing. I’ll also have to deal with pimples and acne. I’m sure they’ll grow up to be vain boys..and I know they’ll be painfully shy when these nasties pop out. Should I just buy them treatment for adult acne? Or see a dermatologist?
But..really, what does one do when a dog chases you? We all know the dog will outrun you..so, do you stop and just stand still?
Hmmm… I’m just going to google it right now..and deliver the answer to you!
Interesting. The best answer is to stand tall, stand real straight. Fold your arms and look straight with authority. Do not look at the dog at all. Just keep still and be quiet. (It’s funny..but I’m doing the same exact thing as I type. HA HA HA HA!). So..tell your kids that. Since they’re short, tell them to face their back towards them. NO EYE CONTACT.
Ok..off tangent here. But my boys often attract running dogs..and run helplessly away from them. So..have to start training them on this. ![]()
