This summer, my uncle invited us for a one-nighter to his campsite. Apparently, they booked it earlier, and his brother won’t be staying for the full 7 days there. So, they asked if we wanted to bunk in just for a night, just to see what camping would be like, especially for the boys.
Now, while I say, “Summer”… over here in Melbourne, the weather is a little unpredictable. In December, it can get pretty chilly especially down south. The winds are carried all the way from Antartica..and even tho it’s a long ways away, it’s still pretty cold.
I’m thinking of one of these down jackets …

but know that people will laugh at me. So, I’m gonna stick to this ..

Now, the thing, is how I will be able to survive a pure camping experience, with 3 kids? 3 kids that love their beds very much. Not only that, 3 boys that hate all kinds of insects. Well, 2 of them anyway. The third one would probably put it into his mouth for a taste test.
And..then there’s the food. They’d have to content with canned food (which is ok, I guess), and no big breakkies! Can’t be going to some cafe joint for their hot choc, eggs n sausages!
Ok. Maybe it’s just me. While I like the outdoors, I also like my washing and urinary facilities. Alot.
I should try camping out in the backyard first. And see how that goes.

Hi Mott,
How was the trip? Have you gone? The second jacket definitely, by the way!
