Garage Sales
Mr.T and I, we love garage sales. I don’t know why, but we love other people’s junk.
Ok, it’s really Mr.T who loves finding retro stuff, and buying them at way below cost. He has brought back a really 80s alarm clock and a travelling iron. Believe it or not, but he actually thought the travelling iron would come handy. Well, I don’t know….first of all, we don’t travel much, and I hate ironing. So there….. hmmm.
On the other hand, I found some pretty cool treasures myself. One was a correlle glass bowl (which had no lid) for 50cents! Believe it or not. This young lady must have gotten it from her mom, and decided to sell them. I wonder if she knew just how much corelle is. Plus, I recently rekindled my love with some really old Charles Shulz’s books.
Ah, but finding a garage sale is usually quite random for us. We’d be driving along the road, and we’d see some balloons tied to a post, indicating “GARAGE SALE!”. Only then, we’d make it there.
I recently found this website called Garage Sales Tracker, that helps advertise your garage sale and it actually brings people to your sale. I mean, the internet is always an effective medium, whenever one wants immediate results. You can start advertising 2 months ahead of your sale, and even if it rains, you can always postpone your sale date, at no further cost!
Recently, Garage Sales Tracker included in a coupon page, where you can download coupons. This really helps in keeping within the family budget. Don’t you think?
In tight economic times as these, I think more and more people are looking at ways on saving household expenses, and if you don’t mind buying pre-loved items, why not? Sure beats bidding away at eBay, and losing! One often finds very good quality items at a fraction of the cost!

I wished we’d have nice garage sales back home. Be nice to find some old treasures too like BOOKS or other useful stuff. Most of the time, it’s really junk nobody else would want!
Have fun at your next one
