Afternoon Delights

by mott on May 13, 2009

You know what I long for?

A nap in the afternoon. Just a nap. But ever since I became a mom, I remember how many times I managed to catch 40 winks. My first trimester with No.2. I was dead tired and No.1 was quietly playing by himself, I just told him I’d be napping for 10 minutes. Thankfully, nothing happened to him.

After that… no more. That was it. The end of any naps of any kind. Even with Mr.T watching, I just couldn’t nap peacefully. Because I knew, that he would end up napping as well. Unless he took them cycling or shooting some hoops. But during those times, I’m normally up and about, cleaning the house (when it’s quiet) or preparing to cook.

No such thing as Afternoon Delights, sipping hot tea and eating fresh pastries anymore. Of course, if we look at the other end of the rainbow, it also meant I had no use for Phenphedrine , for I’ve managed to regain my pre-pregnancy weight (even before No.1). Now, that’s fabulous.

But then again, so is napping. And eating for pleasure..not just wolfing down nutrients.

Hi Mott,

Oh, I’m addicted to afternoon naps. And I need them too! No naps and I usually cannot get anything done at night. Sigh. I wonder what’s gonna happen when I get to the working world and there’s no such thing as a short nap break…=(

I also long for a few hours of quiet time to sip tea, read newspapers and then have a nice afternoon nap.

I can only dream and hope for a quiet Sunday afternoon…
