Now, my kids and I, we love our libraries. I guess it’s for different reasons.
For each and everyone of us.
For me, I get to read any book and every book I want. If one library doesn’t have the book I want, they can order it in for me. For a very small fee, but hey! compared to buying books, this is nothing. It’s cooling during summer (great escapade) and just so convenient in terms of location and parking.
For No.1, he just can’t enough of reading at the moment. He just can’t stop reading. He’ll look through every book that I borrow, and I borrow about 10 books for him at a time. We go through these 10 books too quickly. But I have found, that he likes to re-read some books that he likes. Pretty cool, I think. I am glad he developed a love for reading.
For No.2? He just loves going there, because they have an area just for kids. For them to make noise (quiet, inside building noise), and to play with their simple toys and just so many picture books to look at.
At the end of the visit, both my boys will always, always, always, ask the librarian for their rubber stamps! Believe or not, our library has a stack of stamps, with all sorts of characters, which they will stamp on their hands.
And the kids come away, feelin’ real cool.
I wonder if they’ll remember this when they grow up.

I just joined a public library last Sunday, and I absolutely loved it! I forgot how magical libraries are.
It’s like a giant bookstore with books you can actually read without feeling like a cheapskate. You can copy down notes if you want without any bookstore clerk giving you a frown.
You get comfortable sofas in air conditioned rooms. You can read in peace… you have access to newspapers and magazines…
And the books. The books! I don’t think I can finish reading all the books in my life time.
