Lately, I’ve been calling around Utility companies, to settle some outstanding issues. Can you believe that up till today, I have yet to receive a single gas bill? I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get a bill…I am bracing for a really huge amount, since I haven’t gotten it for over a year!
Anyway, whenever I call them, I’ll get their speech recognition system, and it’s hilarious! I’d have to speak in a staccato “yes” or “no”. And sometimes, their speech recognition system gets it wrong, especially when I have to tell them some numbers!
To be really honest, I actually have a fun time with their Voice Recognition Software as it’ll keep repeating itself, “I’m sorry, I did not understand that”. I think it’s a notch better than speaking to someone who has a very strong accent, as sometimes, I don’t understand some customer service people! Haven’t you encountered that? Especially when you have to repeat your name and spell it out…oh! the hilarity!
