Changing Electricity Companies
The competiton between Electricity Companies here is fierce. Ever since the industry has been deregulated, all Victorian households have been bombarded with requests to change their current electricity biller to a new, cheaper one.
In fact, there are a couple of companies that are willing to change your entire household’s light bulbs, to more energy saving ones, for free, just to get you to switch companies! I switched recently from my current biller, only because I was really dissatisfied with their service to a “greener” alternative. So, it was a little cheaper, but I think there was a catch, where only when I’ve completed 24 months of service with them, will I get all the discounts. Or something like that. There’s always a catch, even they say there isn’t.
Well, the very next day, another company calls me and aggresively tries to sell me their discounted packages. At that time, I was really busy with my kids and I politely told them I wasn’t free to talk. But this salesperson was really agro and tried very hard for me to listen to their terms.
But, I declined again, stating I had already switch..and I was very busy. But he just didn’t want to let me go. So I literally yelled at him, telling him, my kids aren’t feeling well and I was very very very busy. Then I slammed the phone down.
I felt bad doing that, but hey..the guy just didn’t get it the first time!
See..that’s how agressive they are, in getting your account.
