Believe it or not, I caught this ‘documentary’ on tv the other night. 2 old ladies from Britain, were extremely frustrated that the street they lived in, had callgirls lining up from 6pm. They knew that these girls were all working under one pimp and they just couldn’t help but feel sorry for them.
They wanted these working girls to be independent and earn the ‘hard earned’ cash for themselves, not some drug-pushin’, sleazy pimp of a man. So, they travelled to the US and New Zealand, where they had heard that prostitution was legalised.
Their first stop was in US, and they stayed at one of the Dallas Texas hotels, before moving on to Nevada, where prostitution is legalised. Unfortunately, while it is legalised, the girls are grouped into a house, where a man/pimp takes care of them. One of the top girls there earns about USD1million a year and although all the girls say that they are taken care of, the two old ladies just couldn’t believe it.
With that, they knew this type of system wouldn’t work. So, they moved on to New Zealand and made two pit stops. The first, was a brothel similar to the US, while the second was about 2 independent callgirls who decided to do it all by themselves.
At the end of the day, they found that the 2 independent callgirls were probably the most satisfied workers in this sex industry. And they documented the model and forwarded to the Prime Minister, by hand! Yes..they had permission to hand it into 10, Downing Street. 2 plucky old ladies just trying to do the right thing for women who were just trying to work. They faced alot of adversities, but I have to say, they were very brave and didn’t take any of the insults personally.
If I knew the name of the show, I’d write it here….but that part of my brain is now on a vegetative state. Sigh..
