This is one funny book. When I first saw it at the library, I thought it was just another travel book. I didn’t understand why I was intrigued, perhaps it was the picture of this toothless smiling old man. Anyway, I saw Bill Bryson’s critique on it..and I immediately grabbed it. Bill Bryson is one heckuva funny guy.
And I gotta say, it was amazing! How someone could write about a fictitious country, with it’s fictitious language and get this, national anthem! If you ever get a chance to read it, please do. There are several tourists tips which makes you laugh out loud! In fact, while you’ll never be able to get a free hotel night in one of the states, but you’ll get it cheap, if you bring your own tables and linen! Yes..chairs are supplied for free!
Now..go on, go find that book in your library. Read it. And have a funny day!
