The recent (and still ongoing, actually) tragic Bushfires that took over 200 lives, ravaged so many towns and made 1000 over people homeless, was a tragedy beyond words. The very fact that many of these homes had asbestos ceilings, now has a far more devastating effect on everyone’s lives. Asbestos exposure has been the causal factor in Mesothelioma.
As many of these folks would not dream of moving away, and are already planning to rebuild their homes, there must be a constant/periodic check on their health. Such early detection is important as a detailed plan and immediate treatment can be tailored to the patient. Sadly, there is no known cure for Mesothelioma, and this could have been easily avoided, if the arsonists who did not start this devastating fire. What is the world coming to nowadays… *sigh*
