No Rice Woman

The other day, I was skyping my aunt. My aunt, she’s a funny gal. She’s always making jokes about her weight and we always compare tummies. In that area, I’d beat her flat. But, other areas…well, let’s just say, there’s no contest.
Anyway, she suddenly declared that she is no longer eating rice. No rice?, I [...]

Chinese New Year goodies

Asian grocers LOVE this period.
I LOVE this period too. Ooogling at all the CNY cookies and goodies. I’m half-tempted in buying some pineapple tarts..but I know it won’t satisfy me one bit. For one, it’ll be expensive and another, before I know it, the entire container would be empty.
The best diet pill won’t even help [...]

2009 - Year of Acceptance

Yeeuuup. For me, that is.
I hereby declare that this year, I will accept every flaw in my body. I won’t give two hoots about my jelly belly. I won’t consider Apidexin. I will be happy with my cracked and peeling skin on my feet.
Who cares if I wear my flip-flops and my toes are screaming [...]

Aami Called

Ah. Same time last year, we were looking around for a people mover. We looked through every possible car yard, online of course. I didn’t want to sweat by walking through an actual car yard. I was pregnant at that time y’know. So…we actually found our car online and the very next day, we went [...]

Home-made Char Siew

What’s the best thing in the world? Eating home-cooked food. Of course, it would be better if someone else could cook it for me. But..given the circumstances, think I’d be eating english saddles if I didn’t cook. The thing about me is that when I’m craving to eat something, I’ll make it. No matter what.
And [...]

My new power tool

Heh. I thought I invest in this baby and not some horse supplements. Truth is, I know that I’ll be able to get returns on this investment, coz my 2nd son is terrified in going to the hairdressers. I guess, he just doesn’t trust them when it comes to cutting his hair. He is very [...]

Melbournian Summer

Don’t be fooled when you think of summer in Australia. Well, particularly, Melbourne.
Anywhere else in Australia will be experiencing hot summery days, but not in Melbourne. Can you believe the temperature dropped down to 13C last night? Unbelievable!
It’s always so difficult for me to pack up my winter stuff, and trust me, I haven’t been [...]

Bare Minimum

A couple of days ago, we got the new Ikea 2009 catalogue. Those catalogues should be banned.
I swear, every page I turn, I go, “Ooh..that’ll look nice” or “I REALLY need that pot/strainer/glass vase”.
Sigh..but the one thing I really wanted was the striped area rugs. That would really look nice on my floor. At [...]
