I was supposed to stop breastfeeding, as announced in my other blog.
BUT BUT BUT! I couldn’t. I stopped getting blocked ducts..and I started enjoying breastfeeding again! I was quite happy with the arrangement, with only 1 formula feed after his noon nap. But two days back, I felt a lump again! I was quite disappointed as I thought I had taken care of my boobies rather well.
I kept massaging my lumps away but it seemed like it was getting bigger and bigger. It seemed like there was a whole mass of lumps and it was getting really painful to massage already. As it is, No.3 was getting quite annoyed at me, as he wasn’t getting some of that moo-joos!
Based on my past experiences with blocked ducts, I started examining my nipples very very CLOSELY. And guess what!? There was a tiny tiny pimple-like head in one of the openings!
I had to painfully squeeze it out and ‘korek’ it out with my fingernails! Then, the milk started flowing and flowing and flowing! I happily pumped all my milk out….and am so happy to feel my very soft boobs again.
So..if you do get blocked, examine the outlets carefully….yes, may seem a bit wierd..but it may just save you from painfully massaging your boobs and possibly, mastities!
That reminds me… I’ve started getting acne on my back. I think I’m getting heaty again…with all the stress! Must “pangsai” and relax. Wekekekekekeekekek…

Oh yea..the korek helps a lot. I usually check my nipples during shower to make sure they are clean..sometimes those dead cells will clog up the openings.
yikes!!! u use those magnifying glasses or not???!! korek? aiyer… how can.. later the hole bigger or not. wakakakakaka maybe hot steam it can or not. use a hot towel over it lah.

hugs to you. you poor dear. mastitis is the worst thing ever !!! I used to almost faint from the pain of it.
but Dr Koe says its an infection (the white thing) not acne. She sterilize a needle and prick it then tweeze the skin flap away. I suppose next time you could do that too? sterilize needle and tweezer the skin off?

mine was also quite bad, reddish boob and just have to rajin pump out la!!
after reading this, i quickly go nien my breast..and my 6mm block still there…will try your method of painfully poking it…so that i dont need to go for surgery..

my colleague had an episode of exactly that, which she calls ‘white spot’, went to see the doctor and you know what the doc told her, it’s blocked until the milk became yogurt already!! so the good doctor korek out the yogurt for her loh… very painful indeed.
Breastfeeding is very helpful for survival. Breast milk is very important to the baby on their growth development. It create bonds between mother and suit your budget at the same time.
