A Surprise Allergy

For the first time in my life, I discovered a surprising allergy in No.1! A few weeks back, he told me that the back of his knees felt very itchy and he wanted me to put on some cream for him. When I took a look at it, I got a shock of my life! It was eczema staring at my face! For the longest time, I never thought he would have eczema. He only had infantile eczema when he was a baby, but that lasted for only 9 months!
I racked my brains asking myself, what he would be allergic to? I kept moisturising him with Aqueous cream, just to make sure that it doesn’t cause him to itch and then bleed! Then, recently, I noticed that it was slowly fading off. I realised that since I started cooking again, it looks like his eczema was getting better. Then it hit me! My MIL, when she was here, she cooked a lot of prawns!
Now, I have to say that I never cooked prawns for No.1, simply because he really hates prawns. Everytime I asked him if he wanted to eat a prawn, he’d flatly tell me, “NO!”. Now, I guess I know why. His body really reacts badly to prawns. But how did he know that? I think sometimes, when a child tells you that he doesn’t like to eat something….it really means something!
Who would have guessed? If my MIL hadn’t been around, I would have never known about this allergy at all! I’m so glad this came to light, so now I can watch out for any dishes with prawns in them.
Then again, I might be the one eating all the dishes with prawns in them….and then, wishing I had a Lipovox to help me reduce my weight. Hee hee…

ooo….my nephew is allergic to prawns too. actually all seafood including beef. however his mum still let him eat them because he loves it. hence, he gets eczema all over his hands and legs :S is your no. 1 allergic to beef too?
Wow good that you found the answer so quickly. Super detective mom. Yeah, is S1 allergic to beef? Mine scratches after eating beef.
