Cherry Blossoms in Winter!

Look at that! While walking to No.1′s school, the whole street is lined with cherry blossoms..all blossoming in Winter.

It’s a sad reality that while it’s so pretty to look at, global warming has hit earth hard. The last summer was not all that warm. Yes, there were SOME warm days…but it’s summer, it’s supposed to be warm everyday! In fact, there were some days where the temperature dipped so low, the heater was turned on!

This and the fact that I am buying cruelty each and everytime I buy caged eggs. Why can’t Jamie Oliver not gnaw into my conscience? ??!!! I mean, free range eggs are really REALLY expensive. Now, I have to think about the bird’s welfare when I’m buying their eggs? How will I know if those free-range eggs are REALLY free range? How would I know if I was hoodwinked into believing these birds are frolicking under the warm sunshine, instead of a industrial farm?

*groans*

*in small voice* Isn’t my switching off of all lights, enough? Sigh…

That’s so beautiful! I haven’t seen any cherry blossoms here. Must go look around.
The weather here is similar to Melbourne, probably not as extreme.

p/s: Thanks for the birthday wishes, I really appreciate that. :)

I, very recently, was in the same predicament as you are now with purchasing cruel eggs. Try checking out the web and look for a farm in your area. That’s what I did. I found a farm about 30 minutes away with free range chickens that I can see for myself. The eggs are much cheaper and WAY better tasting. I will never go back! My eggs will only come from HAPPY chickens! Hope this helps.

alamak, here the eggs are mainly from the chicken farm. I dont think they are HAPPY chickens though cause they don’t have places to run around and they don’t have any privacy!!

You’re right, unless you can see free range and organic yourself, you just never know if it’s the real thing. These days, I don’t trust anyone, kakaka.

wow…beautiful cherry blossoms :) err…i guess we have to rear our chicken like in the old days and let them run around in the lane or backyard. even so, how can we tell if the chickens are happy or not eh? :D
