Kids = exercise
Posted on July 12, 2008
It was 7°C when my kids yelled at me to bring them to McD’s playground. I have to say….that sounded soooo tempting. Me, in the warm cosy ochre-colored room, sipping a hot choc, while they were outside playing in this freezing weather.
Alas, I just went there yesterday, devouring 2 happy meals (one hotcakes, one bacon n egg muffin). They happily ran around, screaming their hearts out. I couldn’t go again today, could I? My stomach developed a fast-food intolerence suddenly.
So, I stupidly suggested to go to the neighbouring school’s playground. HOORAY!!!!! The freezing wind was cutting through my pants, as I dug my hands further into the pockets hoping to find some warmth.
Why is it that kids don’t feel cold?
So, to keep me warm, I ran. Ran and ran and ran. For 40 minutes, we kicked, bounced and ran after balls. Then the kids decided to play with the monkey bar. They left me alone. I couldn’t be running after balls now, could I? Seemed silly, without the boys.
I started freezing up again. Shouted, “LET’S GOOOOOO!!!! MAMA’S FREEZINGGGGGGGG!”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! 5 more minutes!!!!!!”
Adoi! So cold.
*grumble grumble grumble*. This was at 9.30am. I ate like a horse for lunch…..there goes my 40 mins of running.
