Till today, I have yet to decide which medical insurance package plan I want our family to have. To be honest, over here, it’s quite confusing. They have all sorts of packages, and for a family that doesn’t need accupuncture…one wonders if I should just go for the basic ones. As I discussed this with my In-Laws, they reminded me how easy it was for them to get life insurance for seniors in Malaysia.
To be honest, I am still maintaining my Life Insurance Cover in Malaysia. I think more for a “just-in-case” purpose…..as it does cover internationally. I hate being an adult when it comes to these things. As a kid, my folks would just decide by themselves..and tell me, “Here…take it or leave it”.
Then again, it’s nice to have many many options to choose from. But what a headache. Plus, over here, the Government here has this thing called the Lifetime Health Cover..which applies to people who are over 30, that would be me! Imagine, for every year, I have to pay 2% addition of the LHC loading. Arrrrgh! As I’m already 35 this year..this means, I have to pay 10% on the cost of any hospitalisation cover! That’s just too much!
But, since I’m considered a new migrant….I may be exempted! I have to talk to someone real fast about this! Just have to find the time!
Wish I was a kid again! Sigh…
