Blocked!

One of my ducts got blocked!

Panic! Panic! Panic!

Tried to force No.3 to use his uber-power and suck it all out, but he was wayyyyy too sleepy.

Panic! Panic! Panic!

Tried to use electric pump, maxed it to the highest suction power. It just left with extremely swollen nips.

Panic! Panic! Panic!

Tried using a hot bottle warmer to warm that area up and massaged it out. It just left a sore red area.

Panic! Panic! Panic!

Called Australian Breastfeeding Association…….and the bf counsellor just told me to perform all of the above.

*WAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL*

I had blocked ducts with No.1. Saw a GP, he referred me to an Oncologist. Of all things, he couldn’t detect if it was a blocked duct or a mass. D-uh. Oncologist stuck a needle into my boob. Do you know HOW painful that is? Extracted out milk. Blady hell!

I had blocked ducts with No.2. It took me an excruciating 1 hour in massaging, kneading and pressing the milk out. When it did, it had blood. I basically abused my poor boob.

That’s why, with this third time around, I panicked because I didn’t want to go through all that. But see where it left me…..swollen nips, bruised boob and a screaming baby who doesn’t want to suckle, just sleep!

Sigh…

When it came to his next feed, he did his uber-powers well. He did it in less than 5 minutes. My boobs came unharmed.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…..

    wuahhhahaha..i like Sasha’s comment.

I find that when i had engorgements (which unfortunately is rare :( ), massaging the hard spots while bb is nursing helps a lot to make all the milk flow out.

I had blocked ducts with my #1, but so far this time around, takda *touch wood*

    Hi Mott,

“Saw a GP, he referred me to an Oncologist. Of all things, he couldn’t detect if it was a blocked duct or a mass. D-uh. Oncologist stuck a needle into my boob. Do you know HOW painful that is? Extracted out milk. Blady hell!”

For a GP to get confused, fair enough lar…But for the Oncologist, who sees this vvv often, to also get confused:

D-uh! just about sums it up…

Hi there - I experienced this before. One of the best ways is to go under warm shower. You’ll find your milk flowing out soon…and relief!
