Mother’s worst nightmare

by mott on January 8, 2008

Today, I witnessed something quite scary.

So silently scary, you’d feel the fear in your bones if you were a mum.

I went grocery shopping around noon. Since I was dead starving, decided I’d catch a quick bite before I go into the supermarket.  So, I stopped by the food court, bought me a kebab, sat me down and ate. Obviously, I was enjoying myself, people watching. This is where I noticed this stroller right in front of me. It was right in front of a food counter and I saw an elderly couple hovering around it.

So I just ate and ate and ate la..slowly.

Then I noticed that the stroller was still there. But I saw an old man hovering around. So, I thought … this food counter is damn bloody slow! This old couple seemed to be there with the lil girl, like forever!

Then, the lil girl peers out of her stroller. Cute lil 3 year old blondie..looking quite crossly at me. Aiyo! I thought she looked so FIERCE! So, I myself, got scared and quickly looked away!

The whole time I was there…..it was about 20 minutes. That’s a long service huh?

Then……..

Then…….

Then……..

Her real granma appears, patting her chest with relief that the granddaughter was still stuck in the stroller.

The grandparents “FORGOT” about their granddaughter. That’s why the lil girl looked so cross. She must have been annoyed at being left behind!

A mom’s worst nightmare? Hmmm…..

At least not forgotten her in a LOCKED car like many toddlers before…

I know scary…but it happens.

Actually, it just happened. The parents got home, forgot abt the baby, left her in the car for 1 hour..and she passed away. It was the intense summer heat la…very sad. Asian somemore….

Left in the supermarket nevermind in a foreign country… I think can say still quite safe… but imagine if they are left in the car, locked and died of heat??? That’s what happened in Australia many times already… especially those gamblers…

hahah.just commented above. Not just gamblers la..
