Raise the red flag…vote a red dress!

This subject is actually quite close to my heart, literally. I am genetically at risk of being a heart disease patient. My dear father suffered from heart disease at a very young age due to high cholesterol levels and being a borderline diabetic. Hence, I’ve known for a long time that I could potentially just [...]

Wah..tennis fever hit my kids.
I visited my uncle, who is house-sitting this huge house, with a tennis court. The kids went berserk! Funny thing was, I noticed that No.1 could actually hit. Means he does have fairly good hand-eye coordination. Which I’ve been noticing more and more lately, since he enjoys playing computer games.
So…me thinks…I [...]
Get out of Debt card

I’m sure if you’ve played monopoly, one great card to have is the “Get out of Jail” card. If only in real life, there was a “Get out of Debt” card! But for most people, just getting one card isn’t good enough, especially if they were saddled with many small-valued debts. In fact, most people [...]

One unusual craving I’ve been having lately, is the Taiwanese Fried Sauce Noodles. I think when I get sad, I look at food and seek its’ comfort. But since I have such high standards (Ha! Ha!), it can’t just be any food.
So, a few days back, I decided to make it by myself. I’ve [...]
Cook with Herbs

I always love cooking with Herbs. It wakes up your sense of smell and taste and enhances the dish you’re cooking so well. It actually takes so little effort to add in herbs into your dishes, but it really works hard in bringing out the flavour in a flavour-less dish.
I’ve been thinking of growing up [...]
“Important”

I’m probably the last person to comment in PhotoHunter today.
Ah well..the important thing is that I’m participating. Heh!
Moving to a new country, I think it’s really important for me to constantly remind my children of their culture and where they came from.
Perhaps, I just want them to be proud of who they really are and [...]
What is suffering?

Truly..what is suffering?
As some of you would know, my maternal granma has been bedridden, stricken with stroke, she barely talks, she just lies there, in a nursing home. The only thing is her eyes. You know she’s somewhat aware, but to what extent no one knows.
Suffering?
Then my aunt, who just passed away. She really suffered. [...]
No mood…

Was supposed to participate in this week’s photo hunter, but got bad news from my folks, that my aunt just passed away from breast cancer.
Sigh…
In a way, she is no longer suffering. She really suffered, with chemo, drugs, its’ side effects and the eventual breakdown of her physical body. She tried to be strong through [...]
Staying clean

I find that when someone goes through a rehabilitation program for addiction, most often than not, it is difficult to stay sober. Let’s take a look at the most famous case right now, Ms.Spears.
Her life is spiralling out of control and luckily, the state actually is helping her by awarding custody of her kids to [...]
Mother’s worst nightmare

Today, I witnessed something quite scary.
So silently scary, you’d feel the fear in your bones if you were a mum.
I went grocery shopping around noon. Since I was dead starving, decided I’d catch a quick bite before I go into the supermarket. So, I stopped by the food court, bought me a kebab, sat me [...]
