“Light”

This round, I’m taking “Light” as it is.

Since we are moved into a rented place, there’s not much we can actually change about its’ fixtures. But my decidedly bohemian husband decided to do up the place a bit, to make it a lil more ‘us’.

The original globe lights that came with the house…

old lights

One word : “UGLY”

The new ‘globe’ lights that came from Ikea.

newlights

Three words : “ET PHONE HOME!”

And this last pic? Since, our shippers have not arrived (our cargo has been very very delayed, no thanks to the forwarding agent), we did not want to buy an extra Xmas tree. So, we decided to make our very own….from recycled cardboard. It so happened, I decided to buy “rice lights” during our Diwali festival (in Nov, before we moved from M’sia to Melbourne). The kids loved it, and will be decorating it with toys soon. Just the way the kids prefer it!

The idea of sticking the star up there with a wooden clothes peg came from my 5 year old. Such a simple but great idea…we were literally scratching our heads on how to stick that star up there! Heh…

Those are both great for the light theme. I would like the new globe light you have myself. I’ve been thinking about sprucing up my house with better light fixtures. You are giving me ideas.
