The art of fine art
Posted on November 28, 2007
I will be the first to say, I don’t have an eye for art. I’ve always felt that art is such an individualistic preference, that it would quite hard to agree on what’s best. For example, we have a huge chinese painting of 8 horses, which is to me, very beautiful. The chinese painter used very beautiful strokes in creating this painting. But, to another friend, who used to own a art gallery think that it’s just a run-of-the-mill kind. Sigh! What else can I say? To each his own?
The only way I think is good art, is when there is a high market value on it. If you really like art, but don’t like the idea of being taken for a ride, I’ll suggest you go to notable galleries like Park West Gallery. They have well-recognized experts and scholars that document and review all their collections. At the very least, you have the assurance that the value of the painting you want to buy is validated.
