“smelly”

photohunters

Everything to me was smelly a few weeks back. Even the fragrance from clothes detergent. But, this I had to avoid like a plague! Something that I always had double of!

A condiment that normally accompanies my noodles. It’s called ’sambal belacan chilli’. Smelly because of the ‘belacan’ which is actually fermented prawn paste.

Lovely. Now, that I’m over my first trimester…I somehow only can take 1 dose of it. I don’t know why…but my lil bub probably thinks it’s smelly!

I can’t have most of my food without sambal belacan. I have one tub stored in the freezer for easy access all the time. Fried rice with sambal belacan rocks!! hehe

Never had it, but then when I was pregnant all I could manage was peanut butter and honey sandwiches.

I love sambal chilli belachan. I used to make it when I lived in NY, and I had the apt supervisor come knocking at my door one day to find out if it was a gas leak problem I had. I had forgotten to open my windows! HAd a good laugh, and hubby can usually tell from a block away whenever I made fresh sambal belachan. Guess my neighbours were celebrating when we moved out!
