‘Original’

photohunters

I really really had a tough time hunting for this photo. I scouted around my home and found I didn’t have many things that were original. I then tried to take a picture of my tattoo, since it’s a one and only in this world..but my awkward limbs weren’t flexible enough to take a pic of my back.

Then I remembered my mom just dropped a very precious heirloom this morning. This heirloom is extremely dear to me. As a child, it was only during rare occasions that I got to touch it and eat from it. It’s a complete Chinese Dining Set, complete with bowls, chinese soup spoons (big and small), plates, serving plates and a huge soup bowl. I only managed to take out (oh! so carefully!) the plate and the huge soup bowl to show off.

I originally thought that my mother would do the traditional chinese thing and pass it on to her son’s future wife (god bless her!). After all, being a girl, I married off to another ‘name’..so, I am no longer considered part of the family. But luckily, she pooh-poohed this idea…and knew that I would value it more than her future daughter-in-law. I hope she will think the same of her jewelry sets….! ;-)

The rims are gold-plated! Hee hee….!

I just wonder who I can pass this on to…when it’s my time to go… hmmm..

Mott, you got a Chinese dinner set while your SIL got the jewels? You are not considered “family” anymore because you now have a different name? That still happens? I mean, how do you feel about it? Even if that’s not the case here in the Philippines, what I did was attached my husband’s family name with mine so that I still use my maiden name.

Have a great weekend! Btw, the design on the dinnerware is divine.
