Drama Swarma

Posted on September 21, 2007

Well…what can I say?

This is about the sale of my beloved house. So much drama this week!

Remember how I said that the ‘buyer’ was already taking too long to execute the Sales & Purchase Agreement? Well, I sent him a letter informing him that if there was no S&P within 48 hours, the deal was considered off. Of course, heaps of wonderful legal jargon were used…but I’ll spare u the details. With the deal off, the deposit was also forfeited. *rubs hands*

He calls up on the 2nd day and was outraged that we only gave him 48 hours! I was like, errrr..hello..you had ONE FREAKING MONTH????!!!! He had some excuses, as usual, but luckily we had a no-nonsense lawyer representing us, who told him sorry, no more deal.

He made a hoo-ha… name-dropping like hell, and showing off his peacock feathers..to which, we were quite immuned to by now. I mean, c’mon if you knew so many influential ppl, lawyers and bankers..why the heck wud it take so long to sign the the damn S&P?

So…. his desire to show his power was ‘beef-less’, unfortunately. We may be nobodies…but that doesn’t mean we deserve less respect! I mean, by delaying the entire thing, shows you have no respect for anybody! Not the lawyers, the agents or the vendor!

There is actually more drama-swarma behind it…what with the phantom lawyer, bankers and his daughter..! But..I’ll spare u the details!

Sigh..don’t mess with a pregnant woman and a grumpy Ah-Pek la…. even if you’re the Prime Minister of U.K!

One month is more than enough. When we bought our house, our agent said must have S&P within 2 weeks. You have been more than nice.

2 weeks is the “standard practice”. But you’d be surprised that it’s not written anywhere… so, be careful!
