Maids and husbands
Posted on August 9, 2007
Have similar motivation levels when it comes to housework.
That being said, there are some marvellous maids (who are domestic goddesses) and hubbies that are really houseproud. In fact, one of my friends’ hubs actually looks forward to the end of the day, where he’ll spend his time cooking and cleaning up his home. If the wife should even lift a finger, he’ll get absolutely stressed abt it. Ah…what a dream man.
Anyway, dear Mr.T decided that his wife has been going through quite a bit of projectile vomitting (more than he can ever remember in my last 2 pregnancies) and kindly offered to do some house work for me. I gave him the easiest task first.
The main bathroom.
He says ok and promptly asks if there were any specific instructions on how to do it.
WOW! Normally, he’ll do it his way and I’ll grumble about it. I can see this man is really trying to pamper me. So, I tell him exactly how and what needs to be done. Right down to the different cleanser on the floor, toilet and sink, respectively. Then he asks if I want him to scrub the walls.
EVEN BIGGER WOW! My eyes grew so big, I almost passed out. Which is kinda weird if you could see it happening. I mumbled, “Errr…. well, I only scrub the walls if they’re really grimy..but yea..sure go ahead!”
Ok.
I had completely forgotten about his duties until it was time to give No.1 a shower. As I stepped into the bathroom, I could see the walls gleaming. I could see the toilet shining with brightness.
But wait. The sink had toothpaste stuck on it. It had some mysterious gunk dried on it. The drainage stopper thingy still had lotsa hair it. The floor… actually, the scrub brush still looked quite dry.
Ah well…. at least he did half the job, eh? Which only meant I only need to finish up the rest. Better than doing a half-ass job.
btw, this was his only chore done 2 weeks back. I never complimented or berated him, but did thank him for helping out. He has yet since to offer again. I wonder why.. HA HA HA!

Ah.. your man is so nice.. and you are so nice. If it was me.. all instructions will be yelled at.. and all ‘volunteering’ will be done reluctantly and with lots of shouting.
Mr T is so nice, even offer to scrub the wall.
Mine did not even offer to do any house work, I still mopped the floor at 9 months!
