grease monkey

by mott on June 3, 2007

It always happens to me. I told myself to get with the good karma program, but nope..it seems like I’m a permanent member of the bad karma program. It’s free membership and anyone who is arrogant or snubby..is an automatic member.

I left home about 7pm to pick up my granma. It’s now 9.45pm and we just got home. When I left, I was planning my route, because it’s been raining crazy. I decided against taking the Mid-Valley short-cut, thinking that there would be a huge massive jam. As I bypass it..I noticed a strange thing..no jams. I kept thinking how bad it must be for the economy if there was no jam outside Mid-Valley.

Anyway, I hit the route via Damansara Highway to D’sara Heights, when I noticed a huge HUGE jam. It musta been major floods. I took a detour and ended up on Jln Bangsar. It was majorly flooded as well.

All types of obscene words fly through my mind.

Then, I high-beamed this car who kept taking two lanes. When it finally kept left, I passed it, giving the poor bewildered guy a smug “keep to your own damn lane” look! That’ll teach him. *thumbing nose action*

As I approached the Plaza D’sara..I hear a very familiar thud thud thud.

I know.

I have a flat.

Somehow I had to drive on to my granma’s house..as I wasn’t about the change the tyre in the dark, in the rain.

I make it there.

She’s all ready for me. Waiting to jump in.

I swore to myself for cursing and snubbing that poor guy.

I managed to get all three nuts loosen. Many thanks to my granma for pointing out that I was supposed to turn them anti-clockwise..not clockwise. Sigh..*slaps forehead* By this time, I’m really tired..because it seemed like I was making love to the cross-bar. I was gruntin’, I was sweatin’, I was moving back and forth, up and down.. yea..pure love makin’. All black and greasy and sweaty. Yum-my…

Luckily, my cousin gets there. The bad thing about him is that he weighs less than me. Together we wedged the last nut loose.

BIG PHEW!

As I ponder about my bad luck with tyres, I am grateful that it was a cool night. I am grateful that I managed to change my tyre at my granma’s house, which had WD40 and bright bright lights. Most of all, I’m glad that this did not happen when I had my two monkeys with me.

Because I have changed many a tyre in much worse conditions..which includes one monkey (each at different times!). Major high blood pressure scenarios.

Ah……if you’re a girl and don’t know how to change a tyre.. please learn. It’s really easy! If you’re a guy and don’t know how to change a tyre (like my cousin).. I’m sorry for you.

Thank god safely sampai grandma’s house. NEVER ever take Jalan Bangsar when it pours heavily. It’s always flooded.

And yeah, I know of guys who can’t change a tyre or car battery. Gila kesian!

hahahah..car battery..NOW..that’s another story!!! HAHAAHA..thanks for reminding me! But thanks for that tip.. don’t know why for some reason, this is actually my first time in a Jln Bangsar flood. Before this, I think I always manage to avoid it!

Ah… if you ever get your nuts… I mean tyre nuts tighten at the shop with a compressed air screwer, make sure they flip the switch to the lightest cos if they give the tightest screw of all, any wrench wont be able to open it.

OR, find or buy an iron pipe, a long one, and extend your wrench with it. This definitely helps… trust me. Even little kiddo can open nuts with extended wrench

what a GREAT tip!!!! *hunts for long iron rod*
